Pretty sweet, I didn't realize it wasn't the full show but hey what we got here is sizzling.
Love Garcia licks in Let it Grow!

have to agree about this first set
this first set is pure magic. Jerry is in peak form, esp RoR and PeggyO. I never post reviews, but this one is totally worth it!
New-found appreciation for Let it Grow, maybe since it was not in context of the suite, but mainly because Jerry takes them on a quick yet FAR-OUT-ORBIT (only to have Bobby bring it back too soon)
Found this one randomly on YouTube and it just blew me away.

A collection topper - serious high-level insanity
For my money, this may be the greatest 1st Set ever. Only Uncle is in its greatest-ever version but the rest is A and A-, making it the most consistent fire-smokin-poppin-hazing-snappin-jukin-slappin-joltin-zappin thing ever. And yes, I'm including Barton's 1st set.
The 2nd set is likewise consistent making this a handful of objectively consistent, fully-earned 5-star shows.
The 20009 source sounds best with the rest on DP#10 where it is paired with the almost-as-good previous night. It's also on youtube in an old-school VTR B & W. All four nights of this run were consistent enough to make this the best NYE run ever, to finish the greatest year in band history.
1st Set: A+ 2nd Set: B+/A-
This show is in the elite company of 2/26/77, 5/08/77, 5/21/77, 5/22/77, 6/08/77, 8/12/87, 7/19/89, 9/20/90 etc.

Friday's show was a continuation of the previous night, Thursday, the all-time epic. It takes over in much the same intensity -- just different setlists. Garcia is totally on fire.
Easily as good in certain inexplicable ways, save Garcia goes completely insane on numerous occasions. I tend to think, after the three shows (on the 27th, the 29th and this one), that the guy had blown his wad and never entirely recaptured it for 3 performances in a row. Anyway, not as hot as this. Jerry was phleshing out the corn rows and the band was threshing right along side.
100 star rating.

If you listen to this i promise all of your dreams will come true... Who cares about estimated and eyes anyways !?! :)hhahahaha all the way to the bank! There are a million best versions of those great 2nd setters. Try on some funky, gritty first set classics here and love what you got! Grab the gold and run.
Okay, this would be 5 if it weren't for the pay for play songs missing. I'm going to buy it.. too bad i couldn't just buy this whole show though. Its really annoying to have them break up the runs into the DP. As far as consumer products go the DP collection is classy and top notch. As a totally selfish whole show listener though it breaks up the ability to get it a classic set start to finish.

Get DP10 for the last few songs, seek out the rest
This is a sweet show (with a delightful peggy-o, among other highlights), and yes, it's truly a shame the 'remainders' aren't available on the archive. I've been seeding the rest, others have too:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE allow downloading of THE REST of this show. It's been six years since I bought Dick's Picks #10 and it still only has the last four songs of the second set. May I please download Set One, The first two songs of the second set and the two encores? Two other kind folks wanted as much enough to post this month. I am a completist and this is the greates tool ever, and ever so close to being perfect. Just another little step...

How about making available the large majority of the show that is NOT AVAILABLE on DP10?
October 3, 2004 Subject:
Not really officially released
There are only 4 songs from 12.30.77 on DP10! Most of the songs on that release are from 12.29.77.
Any chance you're able to put the rest of them up?
